Legends of Slots

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Legends of Slots turned out to be a surprisingly relaxing little puzzle game. You line up symbols across spinning columns, but the hook is a collection layer sitting on top: each matched symbol fills in parts of a legend, and completing a legend unlocks a short illustrated story card. It's less about speed and more about slowly building a gallery, which fits perfectly into short offline sessions.

The controls are stripped down to a single tap to lock the columns, with an optional swipe to nudge them one step before they settle. On a cheaper phone it still ran smoothly, and crucially everything we unlocked stayed saved locally with no sign-in prompts. We played the whole thing in airplane mode on a weekend trip and never hit a wall asking us to go online.

What we liked most was the pacing. There's no pressure timer and no energy meter, so you can play one round or twenty. The legend artwork is genuinely nice to look at, and chasing a half-finished collection became the thing that kept pulling us back. It's not a deep game, but as a calm offline time-filler it does its job well.
